#31 TO HAVE GOD AS OUR GOD
What does it mean to have God as our God.I was once in conversation with a sister regarding the trinity, I expressed to her that the topic of God was vitally important, she disagreed and told me that we ought not to have such a strong discussion.1. To have God as our God means to choose him as God.Choose ye this day whom ye will serve. If we serve just any God then its because we don’t know the true God. Not all Gods are God and God himself declared that he is the only one true God. to know the truth God is to know him who is true. The man that therefore knows him abides in the truth. to not know him is to abide in a lie, to live with a lie and to live a lie. How sad! how empty a life how meaningless ones religion when he has not the truth.Jacob declared the Lord shall be my God (Genesis 48:21) who is the Lord. THE LORD HE IS GOD (Psalm 100;3) every knee shall bow and confess Jesus as Lord. ”That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;” (Philippians 2:10). He alone is the true God (Isaiah 45:22-25).2. To have God as our God is to worship him onlyThou shalt worship the Lord thy God and him only shalt thou serveThou shalt have no other God’s but me… are these not the first of all commandments. ‘Me’ being singular, masculine, one. When all the people saw it, they fell on their faces In acknowledgment and adoration of the true God; and all, as one man, cried out, Jehovah, he is the God — He alone; and Baal is a senseless idol. (1 Kings 18:39)David cried, who is God save the Lord? (2 Samuel 22:32). Idols are nothing they be not God’s at all. Dumb god’s blind god’s who cannot talk, who cannot listen to a mans cry, who cannot answer prayer they be not god’s at all!We are to worship this one true God inspirit and truth. the spirit is the medium through whom we worship the true deity. alas many worship the spirit, not understanding that we worship in the power of the Spirit. We worship the Lord and the Spirit points to Jesus giving us the power to worship him in Spirit and truth. many do not know who they worship. Jesus alone must be worshipped. (Psalm 29:2).3.To have God as our God is to understand and know him in personBefore I can worship him as God I must know him as God. so many know Jesus the Lord as the son but do not know him as God. They can tell you everything about him as the son many worship him as the son their songs tells of the sons glory however few worship him as the Lord God for if he is truly Lord he is truly one’s God, o how easy it is for them to say Jesus is Lord but few will acknowledge that the Lord himself is himself God! do they say Jesus is God? May I ask if he is not your God then who is God. This question as asked who is God save the Lord (Psalm 18: 30-33).The term trinity is a misrepresentation of the truth. Trinity does not represent God, the term trinity falsely gives us a man made version of God. for it makes God more than ONE. three in one is more then one. three in one places Jesus as a ‘second person’ yet calls him Lord of all. To have more than one character or person of God is idolatory. Hear O Israel the commandment is…‘Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is one Lord; and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ “ Mark 12:28-30. (Deut 6:4).I must know him, as God and man, human and divine, son and father who alone became flesh to dwell among us and save us. (1 Tim 3:16).God himself became flesh. Therefore to have God as my God I must know him to be the God who took on flesh and became my God. I must know his attributes, understand his incarnation, understand his person and know his name.
