What exactly must I believe about God in order to be saved?
Q. Do I need to believe all the things in the bible in order to be saved, I mean I can believe some things and not another, further I understand some things but there are many ore things I do not understand. what role does buy understanding then play in getting this salvation,A. Salvation is always connected to Jesus. It is he that leads us to God. Jesus is the invisible God made visible and it’s in believing Jesus that we can get to understand and know God.No man understands God without being born of his Spirit and having his Spirit for it is the Spirit that leads is to all truth and it is the Spirit that reveals Jesus. So Jesus simplified faith or the act of faith that is required for salvation, by commanding us to believe in him..He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. 39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: (John7;38,39).1.To believe in Jesus is to believe that he isBut without faith it is impossible to please him : for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. (Hebrews 11;6) This means he exists. Do you believe that Jesus exists? Do you believe that he lives? Do you belie that he is who he says he is, Father, Saviour, friend, healer, deliverer, Lord and God, the eternal life? Do you believe in Jesus, then you truly believe in God.2.To believe in Jesus is to believe that he offers eternal life.He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him John (3;36).3. To believe in Jesus is to accept him and his gift of eternal lifeJesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, (John 11;25)4.To believe in Jesus is to believe in his name“He [Jesus] came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” Those Who “received him” who “believed in his name” We note in the acts that baptism was always performed in the name of Jesus, telling us that waling on Jesus did bring us salvation. for that is who he is salvation.Listen to John 2:23–25, “Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, many believed in his name when they saw the signs that he was doing, But Jesus on his part did not entrust himself to them, because he knew all people and needed no one to bear witness about man, for he himself knew what was in man.” He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (John 3;18)5.To believe in Jesus is to be baptisedHe that believeth and is baptized, shall be saved: but he that believeth not shall be condemned (Mark 16;16)The believers were and are baptised ones. those baptised into his name.
