#02 The Believers Responsibility
Scripture reading:
(Matt 16:24-26).

PROPOSITION: Christianity is not a club one joins, it’s a faith one lives out.
AIM: To reveal the believer’s responsibility to God
INTRODUCTION: We are saved as sons of God in order to be Christlike and so manifest the kingdom of God. Our lifestyle and gospel must reveal to the world that Christ is real and alive in us. Just as he is so are we in this world. To accomplish his mission then requires certain responsibilities which we take on as ours.

1.What is our individual Responsibility  to Reading of scriptures?
And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; (Luke 18;1).
But we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” (Acts 6:4-6)
Are you individually frequent in reading scriptures, diligently seeking truth and pursuing the knowledge of God? Are parents practicing reading the scriptures to their children and family, encouraging them to seek God in prayer and word?

2.What is our Individual Responsibility toward Family prayers?
Before meals help us remember the nearness of God and help us develop a spirit of thankfulness to the Lord for all things he has provided.

3.What is our Individual Responsibility in regards to intimacy with God?
Men ought always to pray and not to faint.
No one is going to make a life for you. Even God says, here are the keys now you do it. This is why we need mentors, pastors, associates and a team. It may be a group or circle of friends you connect with regularly who can give input advice and wisdom into your life. We all need these kinds of friends

4.What is our Individual Responsibility for Personal Development?
If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled (Col 1:23). (1 Cor 10:32).
God will make you established, perfect, settle and strengthen you (1 Peter 5:10).
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. (James 1;22)
Grow in doctrine, progress in life and experience personal transformation. Grow in personal transformation and change. Grow in the knowledge of God. Grow in one’s life experience. One has to grow in life and grow in God. There is much to do here on earth

5.What is our Individual Responsibility to personal evangelism?
In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 5;16).
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. (Matthew 28:19-20)

6.What is our Individual responsibility for global missions?
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptised shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. (Mark 16:15-18)

7.What is our Individual Responsibility toward God?
But he that doth truth cometh to the light and his deed may be manifest, that they are wrought in god (John 3;21).That ye might worthy of the Lord

8.What is our Individual responsibility to fellowship?
I thank God.. for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now (Phil 1;3,5).
For by one Spirit we are all baptised into one body… and have been made to drink into one Spirit (1 Cor 12;13).

9.What is our Individual understanding of the truth
That their hearts might be confirmed being knit unloved and unto all riches of of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God and of the Father and of Christ. (Col 2;2).

10.What is our Individual Responsibility for one’s gift and talent?
Moreover it is required of a that he be faithful.
And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come (ENGAGE IN BUSINESS ESV) (Luke 19:13). “Let every man prove his own work and then he shall have rejoicing in himself alone and not in another” (Gal 6:4).

NOTES:
The responsibility to grow in the knowledge of God is ours. and is exciting and dynamic as we fellowship with others, and fellowship with Christ in his word. The Holy Ghost is our assistant and guide and will show us things we could not understand by mere reading of the bible. Christlikeness is then experienced and signs and wonders become part of our daily walk with him.
‘Faith’ is a verb an action word. We grow in the faith and in the knowledge of God, our witness becomes stronger and out influence greater. what is more, we make sure our salvation. And pay the more heeded attention lest at any time we let these things slip (Hebrews. 2:1).

Questions to Consider
