Acts 1:1
ALL THAT JESUS BEGAN
ACTS 1:1-4. The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, 2Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen: 3To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God
Of all that Jesus began both to do and teach (Acts 1:1)
The book of acts before us is an account of all the things that Jesus began to both do and teach.
The things are the essential dynamics of our faith today. The things ‘commanded’ to be done.
And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; (Mark 16:17). They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. (Mark 16:18).
Behold, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will harm you (Luke 10:19). Paul at Melita (Acts 28:1-6). Power over “serpents and scorpions” had, it will be remembered, been given before (Luke 10:19).
All that Jesus began (Acts 1:1b)
All that Jesus began in the flesh he continued to do in the Spirit (v2). Some would say its the HOLY Ghost that now does the works, No the works of the Holy Ghost are the works of the SPIRIT of the Lord ( ) IN the Old Testament, fore example, ‘The Spirit of the Lord came upon Samson’ We don’t say Lord came upon him rather we say ‘the Spirit of the Lord came upon him. Jesus said the same thing the Spirit of the Lord is on me (Well Jesus is Lord) and its his own spirit that we feel on us, just as it was his own Spirit that moved and operated on him.

He Jesus through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles, ‘before’ he had ascended. IN fact he had always given instructions and commandments and teachings through the Holy Ghost. We who are born of his spirt doe we not therefore the same? We teach the things of Jesus as the apostles were about to do here, in the power of the Spirit, by the Spirit, because we are created in his image and therefore do the things of God like he did the things of God. We speak the things of God like he speaks the things of God. We do the works of God in the power of the Lord God.
To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion (Acts 1:3).
How did he show himself alive, by His spirit, when they saw a Spirit they saw him, when they saw him they saw the Spirit. How does he show himself alive today? By his Spirit!
