#18 THE PREEMINENCE OF JESUS

Preeminence: And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. (Colossians 12:18).
’Preminence’ meaning: Ascendancy · domination · predominance · supremacy · ascendancy · authority · command and control.  ‘Eminence:’ Its noun form, eminence, refers to a position of superiority, high rank or status, or fame. HIS PREEMINENCE OVER ALL THINGS WAS REVEALED1.Revealed in his creative power.”All things were made by him” (Jesus) Colossians2.Revealed in his performing of miracles”And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him. And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought.”And he looked up, and said*, I see men as* trees, walking. After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.(Mark 8:20-26)3. Revealed in his authority over natureThe men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the sea obey Him!”  (Matthew 8;27).4.Revealed in his Resurrection;”I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.” (Revelation 1:18, KJV).He ‘Jesus’ is not a ‘representation’ of the invisible God, but is the ‘MANIFESTATION’ of the invisible God. He Jesus is not a creation of the invisible God. Both his providence of all things proves his deity, regality and authority. In Philiippians 4:19 he tells us ”And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” He alone is the giver of our daily bread (Matthew 6:11). They said to him, “Sir, give us this bread always.” In John 6:35, Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” He Jesus is the bread of life.
