#30 FIRE BAPTISED
Franklin Hall (Voice of healing). An evangelist and revival Preacher and member of the voice of healing evangelists association. preached an extreme doctrine of healing known as ‘body felt’ salvation. Accordingly, the fire of the Holy Spirit, if fully applied to a person (which would take about thirty days), would eliminate the potential for sickness, tiredness, and even body odour. These extremes and the discipline they entailed severely limited his following. In 1956 Hall founded his Deliverance Foundation, and in 1970 it reported thirty-two affiliated churches and two thousand members.Bibliography: D. E. Harrell, Jr., All Things Are Possible (1975);In 1956 Hall founded his Deliverance Foundation, and in 1970 it reported thirty-two affiliated churches and two thousand members. In 1946, he published a brief book entitled Atomic Power with God through Prayer and Fasting and most of the evangelists in the 50s followed his method of prayer and fasting (Voice of healing). The Fire doctrine was initially preached by Benjamin Harding Ewin. who founded the fire baptised holiness church in 1896.After coming into contact with members of the Iowa Holiness Association, Irwin accepted holiness beliefs and claimed to experience entire sanctification in 1891. He was a student of the writings of John Wesley and John William Fletcher and eventually joined the Wesleyan Methodist Church.[5]Irwin became convinced that there was an experience beyond sanctification called the “baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire” or simply “the fire”. After receiving this experience in October 1895, he began to preach this “third blessing” among holiness adherents in the Midwest, particularly among Wesleyan Methodists and Brethren in Christ, a River Brethren denomination. His services were highly emotional with participants often getting the “jerks”, shouting, speaking in tongues, and holy dancing and laughing.[6] Thousands attended his meetings and his teaching was circulated widely within the holiness movement, with its greatest strength in the Midwest and South. His message was largely rejected, however, and was denounced as a “third blessing heresy”. (WIKI [7]We need the fire, the Holy Ghost fire, however it is more than preachers shouting ‘Fire’ it comes rather with a life of holiness and dedication to truth, out of which comes that ‘holy thing’ a soul as God’s ‘burning bush’ John said “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:” (Matthew 3:11). This fire is born in the Pentecostal experience known as the new Birth Acts 2:38 ‘tongues as of fire’ (Acts) And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. This experience ‘clothed’ them with fire. or clothed with power form in high. promised by Jesus in Acts 1:8 and Luke 24:49 The Lord told the prophet Jeremiah I will make your words like fire (Jeremiah) reveals the necessity of a life being immersed into the word. so much so that he becomes a blazing inferno of the gospel. he becomes a word on fire for the Lord. Jeremiah5:14 in the NIV states, Therefore this is what the LORD God Almighty says: “Because the people have spoken these words, I will make my words in your mouth a fire and these people the wood it consumes.Paul image Public Domain
